We’re beyond excited to share some incredible news. IDEAT Africa, formerly Teens Launch Africa, was recognized as one of the Top 3 Impact Projects worldwide at the 12th International Youth Conference (IYC 12) in New York City. It still feels surreal to see our work, something that began as a simple dream, gain recognition on a global stage.
What started as a simple idea to help young people build digital skills, creativity, and confidence has grown into something much bigger than we imagined. Being acknowledged on a global stage shows that when passion meets purpose, young people really can create change that matters.
We started with a bold vision and the determination to turn it into reality. We wanted to help young people learn digital skills, embrace creativity, and believe that their ideas could spark change. Over time, that vision grew into a movement powered by volunteers, mentors, and young innovators who share the same belief, that Africa’s youth can lead transformation.
Being among global change makers at IYC 12 was more than an award moment for us. It was a reminder that impact starts small, with one idea, one act, one person choosing to make a difference. We met brilliant young leaders from around the world, each tackling real challenges in their communities. Listening to their stories and sharing ours reminded us that we are part of something bigger, a generation redefining leadership and innovation.
This recognition is not just about IDEAT Africa; it belongs to every young person who has participated in our programs, volunteered with us, or simply believed they could create change. It is about the classrooms where we teach digital skills, the communities we inspire, and the lives we have touched through mentorship and innovation.
Being named among the Top 3 Impact Projects worldwide is not the finish line, it is just the beginning. It fuels our determination to reach more young innovators, expand our programs, and empower youth across Africa to dream boldly and act purposefully.
We are deeply grateful to our team, volunteers, partners, and everyone who has supported us from the start. This milestone is a shared victory. And as we look ahead, one thing is clear: the future belongs to those who dare to create it. The future is ours to shape.
